About Maker Mindset​
 

Maker Mindset is a tutoring service that supports students in literacy, math, and social-emotional development through a personalized, research-informed approach.
 

Education is not one-size-fits-all. Every child learns differently, and our instruction reflects that. We use student data to guide individualized lessons and provide explicit, systematic teaching when foundational skills need strengthening. Our goal is to close gaps while building confidence.
 

What makes Maker Mindset unique is how we integrate hands-on STEAM projects into the learning process. Alongside targeted instruction, students engage in purposeful design challenges that strengthen oral language, problem-solving, executive functioning, and academic application.

Our builds use materials that already exist; fabrics, tools, and other donated resources, and transform them into something new. Students don’t just complete assignments; they create, reflect, and apply what they’ve learned in meaningful ways.
 

We serve families seeking structured tutoring with an innovative, multisensory approach — especially students who benefit from alternative pathways to learning.
 

Our long-term vision is to expand into a full makerspace in Montgomery County where learners of all ages can build, create, and grow using community-donated materials.
